If you’re going to try to get folks to invest in the potential of a robot’s spiritual and emotional development, maybe don’t make it explicit that she’s programmed to die when her hospice patient does:
Also, maybe don’t write a hacking/meltdown/stack-dump/dream ballet hoping to create suspense about whether the ’bot will murder the human, especially if you’re going to let the thrashing drag on for what feels like a full five minutes. Because lbh, at some point audiences become more afraid of the lingering effects of interpretive dance than of any mortal risk to the protagonist.
